Hello UACRAO colleagues!

We’re just past the midpoint between summer conferences. We’re busily planning and preparing for our 2025 conference to be held at Brigham Young University-Idaho here in Rexburg, ID! In the meantime, I want to update you on some current news in UACRAO:

UTAH HIGHER EDUCATION DAY EVENTS
UHED is a huge load lift, and the University of Utah team led by Moana Hansen-Kofe deserve huge compliments! This year’s UHED tour is off and running, and I’m already hearing great reports. To all our participating reps, best of luck, stay safe, and try to get some occasional sleep! Thanks for all you do to represent higher education and our UACRAO institutions.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES
Love promoting higher ed? You might be a great candidate for VP of Recruitment! We’ll be sending out a call for nominations for VP of Recruitment very soon. We hope to have this two-year position filled by the beginning of March. We’ve revised this role so it’s not so demanding on a single institution and will now run on a committee-based structure, with the potential to pull from multiple institutions. More opportunities for involvement will also be coming up at the Summer conference, including President-elect, VP of Technology and Communication, Secretary, and Treasurer elect! UPCOMING SURVEY
The only thing better than UACRAO is more UACRAO! We’re exploring ways to stay connected and continue to add value to our association. Watch your email for a survey coming soon asking your thoughts/interest in gatherings, professional development opportunities, webinars, etc. between conferences!

2025 UACRAO CONFERENCE
Please save the date for another excellent UACRAO conference to be held at BYU-Idaho on June 4-6! This is an incredible opportunity to build connections and grow professionally! We are excited to “Think Outside the Box” (our theme) with you in Rexburg. We’re planning some amazing activities and sessions! Some quick notes:

• Back by popular demand is our Ambassadors track! Invite your student ambassadors along to increase the networking and professional development opportunities at all levels of your organization! Plus, they’re fun and energetic!
• Have you ever been to BYU-Idaho? June is a great time to visit Rexburg! We’ve got some incredible hiking and outdoor activities available right down the road, an on-campus ropes course, the return of last year’s bottomless fountain drink, and lots more!
• Registration will open in February. Stay tuned for more details!

CALL FOR PRESENTATION PROPOSALS
We are now accepting requests for proposals to present at the conference. You (yes, you!) have knowledge and expertise to share! Brand new to higher ed? Teach about what you learned in your onboarding experience and how it can be improved! Seasoned veteran? Share some best practices or lessons learned! Have a ‘favorite topic?’  or ‘recommended reading list’? Share it with us! Submit your proposals here. Submission deadline is March 12, 2025!

INSTITUTIONAL REPS
As a reminder, each member institution has designated an institutional rep. This person can be a great resource when connecting with other campuses. You can find a list of institutional reps on the UACRAO website.
