Manage and supervise the VA certification unit and the certification process for military benefits, ensuring accurate and timely submission to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Advise student Veterans, their families and dependents of their rights under military service benefits acts and other relevant legislation. Serve as lead School Certifying Official (SCO); maintain compliance with state and federal regulations governing the application of military-connected education benefits. Serves as University liaison; provides accurate information to student veterans, dependents, and university and VA officials. Facilitates collaborative relationships with departments campus wide to ensure quality of service and compliance with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Hires, trains, and supervises one or more direct reports, ensuring team members’ competency and effectiveness.
