Hello my UACRAO friends!

It has been a quick 6 months since our sunny conference down in St. George at Utah Tech University. That means we are just another short 6 months away from our 2024 conference which will be held at Utah Valley University! As we continue through the year, I want to provide you with a couple of quick updates on some happenings in UACRAO.

UTAH HIGHER EDUCATION DAY EVENTS

I want to give a big shout out to the Vice President of Recruitment, Moana, and her team at the University of Utah for their preparation to put on an excellent UHED!  We are a week in, and it is going smoothly! Good luck to all of our reps out there traveling around and representing UACRAO.

ADMISSIONS IN THE STATE

As many of you heard, On December 1, the Utah Board of Higher Education made some changes to admissions fees for public universities and colleges in the state of Utah. All prospective undergraduate applicants who live in the state of Utah can now apply for admissions without a fee! Many admissions offices worked furiously to implement this change. We also continue to monitor the common application discussions at the Utah System of Higher Education and hope to continue to share updates with leaders at each institution.

2024 UACRAO CONFERENCE

Please save the date for another excellent UACRAO conference to be held at Utah Valley University on June 5 – 7! This is an incredible opportunity to build connections and make this the best conference yet! With that in mind, we have made a few updates to the conference structure this year that we think you are going to love:

• Added a new conference track titled, “technology”. This track will showcase everything from updates in AI, to new ways to utilize technology that you use every day.   
• Added a new conference track specifically for student Ambassadors. That’s right, invite your student ambassadors along for the first time ever for some professional development and networking!
• Partnering with the UBUG conference which will take place immediately prior to the UACRAO conference at UVU. Come for the UBUG conference and stay for the UACRAO conference by just adding one night to your reservation!
